Danger Approaches by Ardweden I stand, looking out to the sea. Calm, peaceful, pale green waves lapping the sides of the ship. The sea breaks, a monster rising from the deep. Roaring, sucking everything in its path, it moves toward my brother. I shout, but my brother, deafened by the roar, doesn't hear. He stands, terrified, paralyzed, as the monster swims. Like a shark, it moves closer and closer, faster and faster, until its gaping maw stops, and my father turns the vacuum cleaner off. He reaches out his hand, and helps my brother off the bed.
